why is my computer blank when i turn it on

Specs: Windows Vista
I can hear the fan but nothing else, the monitor is working fine but I get nothing from the CPU.

CPU or Tower? They are two different items. A CPU is the brain of your computer. The Tower is the box that everything connects to. I am assuming that you are talking about your tower.

I would check your video cable to make sure it is plugged in all the way. It is usually a blue or white cable.
