Why is canon pixma printing blank pages?

Specs: Windows 10
I am trying to print some photos but all I get is blank pages please help me sort the problem .I really want to print them to put into photo frames

It's most likely printing blank pages because the printhead (inside the printer) is severely blocked with old ink - - this can happen if the printer is left unused for a long period.

Try the "Cleaning" process which is under the Maintenance tab in Printer Preferences.

If that doesn't help, execute "Deep Cleaning".

If that doesn't help either you'll have to remove the printhead (if it's removable, depends on the specific model) and soak it overnight in warm soapy water.

Let it dry thoroughly (don't use hair dryer or any form of forced heat) before putting it back.

does the Canon have a test print facility?

And if so, does it work?

The test print facility is actually called "Nozzle Check", I run it every 3-4 days and date it, just to keep fresh ink flowing.

as Mike says, you should try that but I suspect that will also give you blank pages, though I hope I'm proved wrong of course as it may mean the problem lies elsewhere and easier to fix.
