Why doesn't my new Logitech K120 Keyboard work?

Specs: Windows 7
My old keyboard stopped my ability to type. The new K120, USB plug and play does not allow me to type.

does it have a button on the usb transmitter and keyboard also on the bottom to to push to connecton with the other if not might be your batteries may need replacing.did you buy new or is it used?

Derek has a point that happened to me on a laptop cooling fan once plugged it in wouldnt work till i restarted it the computer then it worked fine

So the old keyboard doesn't work and the new keyboard doesn't work. Maybe it's not a problem with the keyboard. Maybe it's some other hardware problem and the system is locking up. Or maybe the keyboard is disabled in device manager. Does either work in safe mode?
