Solved Why does my HP 2545 give out of paper message?

January 3, 2015 at 01:16:18
Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core i5 2.5GHz/6GB
My HP Deskjet 2545 gives an "out of paper" message both on-screen & on the printer when there is paper in the tray. This is on both Windows 7 & Windows 8.1 laptops with wireless connections to the printer. It either doesn't draw the paper down or it draws several pages at once. The printer worked fairly well for about a month.

Make sure that paper guides are set to paper size.
When putting in paper, fan it out and then even it out again so papers slide along each other easier.
Wipe paper feed rollers with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry.
If the printer is under warranty, do not do much more, contact HP about warranty service or replacement.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Cleaning rollers with damp cotton swab seems to have done the trick - thanks!
