Specs: Windows 7
My monitor goes black for 5 seconds then comes back on for 5 minutes. Pc and sound stays on while this is happening. It doesnt do this all the time, maybe once a week for about 20 minutes total time. It will be great for 4 or 5 days and then it happens again. I checked connections OK. I have a ATI Radeon HD 4600 Graphics card, Windows 7. Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 motherboard.

I would first try removing the video drivers and reinstalling. If that doesn't work, then download the newest driver and install it.

Something else to try...

This is a desktop/tower system, so

Power down and remove the mains cable - so no power is connected in any way.

Remove the graphics card and clean the edge contacts - using a soft pencil eraser. Ensure no bits stuck to the card edge connectors, and re-install the card. Then remove and re-install again.

While you're at it, remeve each RAM stick and clean edge connectors as above. Re-install each RAM stick at least twice (as above with the graphics card).

Power up again and if fault persists?

You might also try the monitor on a different computer to determine if it's a computer or monitor issue.
