why does HP hard drive make a lot of noise,

In idle it hums loadly and variably, at other times it randomly cranks up and really sounds very load and vibrates. I opened up the case and blew out dust checked for bad bearings on fans everything is ok, help

Are you sure it isn't the optical drive making the noise?

Download a hard drive fitness test from the manufacturer of the drive and run it to see if the drive is operating outside specs.

Of course you should also be backing up your important files.

If the hard drive becomes noisy, this is a sign it is wearing out and should be binned and replaced soonest.

How old is it?

If it fails, how important is the information it contains should it be lost?

Drives are not expensive these days.
