why cant i install windows xp

Specs: Windows Vista, 128MB
ok so i bought this ACER Travelmate 8005 LMI notebook from my friend for about 70 dollars. It has windows xp on it. For 2 days it worked just fine, but then it just freezed. I restarded computer But then then came Disc read error press (control alt delete to reboot). well i tried to format and reinstall XP, but in the setup it freezes at 48% and then it started to give me error Can't copy blabla.dll.......ok then i tried to install ubuntu first from cd ...well the setup installed about 90 % then it shuts down, but still i had accses to detskop ...:D lol. Then i had an idea ....what if i just tried to install ubuntu from USB stick ....i ran bios and it found usb ...BUT f---!.....when i REBOOT it gives this message,.....NLTRD is missing press Ctrl alt and delete to reboot :D

WhAt to doo ?? i rann out of ideas __////

Disc read errors, copy errors, missing files, sounds like your drive is going bad. Go to the hard drive manufactures website and download their diagnostic disk.

do i have to install it to a cd or usb ? i dont have any opereiting systems on that notebook right now :(

Try memtest for a few days. I suspect they knew of this issue.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
