which Ram memory is most efficient

Specs: Windows XP, 2.0mhz/500mb
would a 6gb tri-channel ddr3 sdram @ 1333 mhz (3dimms) be more or less efficient than 8gb ddr3 1066 sdram (4dimms)?

More is generally better but why the drop in speed - 1066 vs 1333?

"More is generally better" yes i agree but u won't notice a difference between 6gb and 8gb. "4dimms" how are u going to run triple channel with 4 sticks of ram? Core i7 9xx run triple channel @ 1066 ddr3 there's no point of getting ddr3 1333 unless u plan to overclock cpu.

I forgot to mention that i am looking at 2 different computers and each has the separate memory.The Dell has the tri-channel and the HP has the the 1066 with 4 dimms.
