Which cable do I need to connect laptop?

Specs: Windows XP, 1 GB
i want to connect my laptop via cable which type
of cable is suitable for that purpose
laptop 1 is "hcl me series "
2nd laptop is lenevo both are :--dual core with xp
os and 1 gb ram

Do you want to connect them together? Having a shared network?
Or are you connecting them to the Internet, via a modem?

What exactly do you want to do?
Note many users just use a USB flash drive to copy data between computers these days

Ethernet cable is preferred
Cross-over Ethernet between two computers
Or Patch Ethernet directly to a multiport router

Stick with you original post, don't double post, it will only get deleted.

If both laptops have an Ethernet Network Adapter an Ethernet cross-over cable is the simplest way.

As mentioned above:

I actually have a 20Mtr long cross-over Ethernet cable, that I'm never going to use :)

But I did use it many times in the past
These days I tend to use patch cables to the Router
