Solution Found! Afraid it was an ID-10T error. I mistook a smart card reader slot for a multi-card reader device. Problem solved with the ordering of a UTech Smart USB Memory Card Reader. Appreciate everyone's assistance.

Are you sure that you are looking at the right slot?

What is the model number of this specific device?

Here is a multi-card reader with labeled ports. Your SD card would fit in the upper-left port.

It sounds like you're looking at the Compact Flash port as shown in the bottom-left of that picture.

The Lenovo reader doesn't look like that. It depends upon the model, but I suspect the OP may be looking at the PCI Expess card slot. The size sounds about right; the card reader is a smaller slot, possibly directly beneath the other one.

I know the Lenovo multi-card reader doesn't look exactly like that. That's why I asked for the model of their specific device. Then I provided an example of A multi-card reader so the OP can better understand what we're talking about.

If the OP misunderstood what a card reader is, they may have mistaken it for a PCIe slot, as you suggested.
