Specs: Windows XP, 400 Mhz 1.6Ghz 1256 DDR ram
I have an old pc pentium 4. I just cleaned the pc while ago from dust, and a few weeks ago I tried to use a disk in the cd rom drive (don't use too much cd rom), I inserted the disk on it and in a few seconds the monitor turns black and a message reading "entering power save" and restart again. Sometimes after that the PC can read the disk and sometimes the computer turn it off again. It shows in the screen the reason why it turn it off for a few seconds but cannot read it because the letters are overlaped. What I can do? I already clean again the PC from dust and make sure the components are not loosen. any idea? thanks. enrique

Sounds like a bad driver. Try going into your device manager and removing the driver. Then either rescan for devices or reboot.

This should work if you are using XP or 2000 but you may using 98 or millenium on a computer that old.
