Go into the BIOS and check that the hard disk is still being recognised.

If it isn't then the hard disk has probably failed.

If it is then boot from a Bookable CD and run chkdsk

Hi Bernadine,

The boot order is probably cd/dvd then floppy-drive then hard-disk.

If a non-bootable disk has been left in either of the first two devices it could cause this problem.

Please advise back on progress.

That's correct, Try to check the boot order in your computer Bios. If everything is ok then try repair your startup problem with windows 7 installation disk.
