Solved What USB-to-RS-232 adapter will work with Windows 8.1?

Specs: Windows 8.1, 4 GB
Virtually all the USB-to-RS-232 (9-pin) adapters for sale on eBay have a disclaimer, which states that they will not work with Windows 7 and 8 64-bit systems, even with the software drivers supplied. Does anyone know of a USB-to-RS-232 adapter that will work on a system running Windows 8.1, 64-bit?
Thanks.

And this one may have possibilities? Also check their driver update section too.

What about something like this? >> http://www.startech.com/Cards-Adapt...

Useless if you're asking about a laptop though. How about telling us what it is you're trying to connect?

Thanks, Riider. We're talking about a laptop here, so RS-232 adapter card is not an option. I'm running a program called CWCOM, which allows users to send and receive Morse code over the Internet. The only option for connecting a telegraph key is via RS-232, which of course this modern laptop does not have. So, I'm trying to create one via a USB-RS-232 adapter.
