i have a lap top with vista and last night it would start to boot up to windows then it would shut itself down again finally was able to stay on long enough to fun a scan through norton. report said it was a partition (c) reports file systems errors. what does this mean? and is my computer done for?
Run Chkdsk /F. You will be prompted to run chkdsk next time the computer starts. This should check and correct any errors. This is assuming you are using one of the variations of Windows. You have put N/A for your specifications but when trying to resolve problems the Operating System you are using is very applicable. They do tend to differe quite a lot from each other.

thank you so much Stuart, I have ran those systems checks on my lap top and nothing really shows up and i still have the same problem.
