What if I put a DDR2 card in a DDR1 machine.

Specs: Windows 7
I put the DD2 Card in the machine when I wasn't sure if the old one was DDR2, but I was told that it was. It wouldn't boot and now the old card won't work either. Is the motherboard dead for sure?

As long as u have agp or pci or pci-e slot u can install any agp or pci or pci-e v-card. Start by listing the system specs

Hopefully you're talking aboout video cards & not actual RAM?

DDDR1 & DDR2 memory are totally different. They require different voltages, have a different pin count & are notched differently. They are NOT interchangeable.
