That could be a corrupt operating system or more likely a hard drive failure. If you can get into the bios at bootup, see if the hard drive is listed. Even if it is, doesn't mean it's good. If you know the maker of the drive, you can download a diagnostics tool from their website. You could also download a copy of a Linux Distro and see if you can boot into that. If you have restore disks, you can try them also. If none of those work, the hard drive is toast.

You probably need to correct the Boot Order or similar settings in your bios Setup.

This could be caused by a bad CMOS battery. When the battery failed the normal boot order is lost, resulting in the computer attempting to boot from the network card.
