How are you connecting the adapter? USB? Direct to the IDE connector?
If IDE, your BIOS may not support the drive.

Look for the external USB drive in Windows Disk Management. If you see it there, post what is listed there for the drive.

Nothing else listed, like capacity? Disk 0 should be the hard drive with Windows on it. What are Disks 1,2,3,4?

Look in device manager to see if a USB mass storage device is listed there.

Your external unit is actually considered two hardware devices. The first one is the enclosure and the second is the actual hard drive inside the enclosure. Either one can fail.

Does not show capacity, but that drive just to have a windows but one day stop working the drive sounds run smooth no messy noises, the disc 1234 are for the media like memory cards etc.

In the disk management when it shows unreadable shows the icon as usb the name of the drive Samsung.

I do remember when first install the adapter the letter drive for my DVD drive was highlighted but nothing was there after that I disconnect the DVD drive and restart the pc but still not show anything, I thought at first that both were assigned the same drive letter I mean the did drive and the sata drive but not sure.

Also yesterday I try a recovery program and run at fist did not show the sata but manage to run it and only came up with a couple of pictures and hundreds of cab files do you think this files contain my information? Curiously every cab file was 45 MB

Not sure if my pc it’s compatible at all, these the specifications of my pc

Download and use a program called testdisk. It is very important that you read all the help files for testdisk BEFORE using it. Get it at the link below.

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/Test...

The most likely reason for that to happen to the USB drive is not using the safely remove icon in the tray by the clock. You need to disconnect it before unplugging or switching off.
