Hi I want to do a bit of an upgrade to the system without spending too much money.

I was looking at processors but when i read the info on the HP page(below) i wasn't sure what the 580 and 670 meant. I currently have a Pentium D 3.00GHz in the rig. Is it worth upgrading the CPU? If so what processor would be the most my mobo could handle or is the board pretty much maxed out already?

Socket: 775
Supports the following processors:
Pentium D 800 series Smithfield core up to 3.2 GHz
Pentium 4 Prescott core up to 580 and 670

Alternatly am i just better off upgrading the 4 x 512 sticks of RAM I already have and say put in 4 x 1024?

Thanks :)

Running performance monitor may show which upgrade would be best.
Since you say you have Windows 7 a readyboost device may be the single best cheapest option.

I'd look at more ram but you do know that you won't be able to use all of the 4G.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

Yes memory upgrade, you would not gain much from changing CPU..
