Solved Vista laptop HDD boot failure plus don't have recovery disc

Specs: Windows Vista
hard disk drive failure with no recovery cd. My personal laptop HDD has failed, BIOS doesn't read any HDD. I tried removing then reinserting the HDD, but no luck. I could buy a new HDD. but I'm not sure how to reload Windows as the recovery disk was partitioned onto the now faulty HDD and I have no recovery cd. Once the new HDD is installed can I boot using the Network Boot option in BIOS somehow? Or would I be better served contacting Microsoft and have them send me a recovery disk?

No, you contact whoever made the laptop and ask them to send you a recovery disk.

Microsoft don't sell recovery disks, only full blown operating systems.

That is why you were supposed to make the restore set of disks when the computer was new. You can contact the manufacturer. Depending on how old the computer is, they may have a restore set to sell you.
