Hi, my problem is with Ubuntu & Virtual Box. I have had problem installing Ubuntu 8.10 on my laptop and decided to use VB it installed with one problem, the OS is in the centre of the screen and its like working in a letterbox. Ubuntu shows up in a box about 6" by 4", my screen size is 17" so I'm sure you cn see what my problem is. By the way I am a complete novice when it comes to Linux so can you make your answers as user friendly as possible please?

1. try WUBI rather than Virtual Box.

http://wubi-installer.org/

2. ask Linux questions in the Linux forum.

thanks for you help but I am having a lot of problems installing the suggested methods and also virtual box that I have decided to just continue with the installation I have on my pc. Its a shame as I was really looking forward to having ubuntu & vista on my laptop.
Thanks again.

I would have suggested that you either set screen to closer to the native os. Otherwise host key + f key would have brought you to full screen. If no host then right ctrl key + f.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
