View boot log when laptop won't start up after dropped

Specs: Windows 7
How would you access the boot log if your computer was not able to boot? I dropped my Acer Aspire laptop (Windows 7, Intel Core i3) and ran a boot log for diagnostics, but I cant get to the boot log. I've tried normal and safe mode, but the screen goes black after a starting windows screen. Also, the screen is shattered, so I'm working from an external monitor.

Are you hoping the bootlog file will give you information so you can decide if it's worth repairing? I can't think of any other reason but I don't know if that would be enough. Assuming you want to keep it working so you'd still be able to use your personal files and software you might want to keep an eye on ebay for similar models. I recently did that for a similarly busted up toshiba that someone brought over. The one from ebay wasn't working but the screen and case were good so I swapped the motherboard and hard drive from the busted up one into it and it worked fine.
