video gos out and video card fan speeds up

i just put together a new pc myself and when i tuch the case some times the video gos out and the fan on video card speeds up? pls help

If this only happens when you touch the case I would suspect an incorrect grounding of the motherboard. Did you verify that motherboard standoffs are correctly positioned beneath only the required mounting holes of the board? If the case came with extra standoffs and you left them in place they could be contacting the motherboard in an inappropriate place.

For future reference, when posting a question please include a detailed description of the system specifications including make/model numbers of the major components. ie, Motherboard, CPU, Power-supply, Graphics card.

In your situation, with a self-build, info on the brand.model of case might also be helpful. If you have used a cheap-build case it might be it has pressed raised screwmounts for the motherboard rather than proper standoffs. Those things occasionally need to be insulated when assembling the system to prevent unwanted grounding.

sry k here is what i have i have a cooler master storm case there was 6 mounting holes on the motherboard i moved the xtra ones the case had and put them in the correct spots for the motherboard the motherboard is a gigabyte p55-ud3l and a intel i3 processor my video card is nvidea gforce 9600gt and i have ocz tech ddr3 memory and 500w cooler master power supply WD 500gb hd xp OS .the problem like a said before is when i touch the case some times the video cuts out and the fan on card speeds up i dont know if it just my luck it does it when i touch the pc case and some times when the computer loads back up u know when u plug a new device in and your computer finds it well some times it tells me the vga adapter or some thing has failed to install but my video still works i havint touched any thing in bios yet i just threw the computer together download windows and started using it i download all the drivers from the cd's and stuff its not every time i touch the pc case its just random it will do it like twice a day and im not even stressing the computer much i ran strees test that came with motherboard every thing pass the test

i checked all conections and no extra standoffs just the 6 that hold the MB when i touch the case with 1 finger bam video cuts out only some times tho only thing i can think of that is still conecting the case 2 the MB is the plate thay gave me to fill in the area in the back around headphone ethernet usb plugs just dont know if some thing like that can cause it 2 spark out from me touching the case
