Technology change everyday, u won't get much out of 2005 system. May be $100-$200 or less.

I remember my Dad bought a complete TRS-80 PC with dox matrix printer from Radio Shack back in the early 80's for ~ $2,000.00. It had 48K of RAM. Lord knows what the CPU speed was, probably 10 Mhz or less? It ran DOS (ver?), had a Black & White monitor. Well....didn't take long for that to become worthless. Same goes for PCs today, that Sony was a pricey system back in '05 -,281...

There's one Sony like yours on ebay for $414.00, personally I'd N...nnnn..NEVER pay that for a used laptop.

Newer, faster systems with better architecture come out every few years and used computers, especially laptops are a big risk to purchase, hence the prices are very low.

If you can get $200 - $300 for it, take it.

Just another stupid saying...
