Using MyPhoneExplorer with a SonyG502.

Specs: Windows XP
How do I open my SonyG502 with MyPhoneExplorer? It gives me only two choices: Sony with a modem interface, or Google android with USB cable. I am using Sony with USB cable, but there is no option for that combination.

Well I guess you try one of the two options and if no luck then try the other.

Does everything look OK in device manager?

Did that - tried both options - before I posted my question. Thanks.

Make sure the USB cable you're using is compatible with that phone. Some are proprietary.

You may need to update their software.

Have you used their software before and thus are familiar with it? The software probably has a help feature or instruction manual. Is that of any help?

Thanks. Been using the USB cable with the phone for several years. I have been using MediaGo to download photographs. That functionality is still working well. It's just that MyPhoneExplorer does not give an option to connect to the G502.

According their their site that phone should be compatible with myphoneexplorer so it ought to work. But you shouldn't need it if your intent is to just move pictures from the phone to the PC. When connected, its SDcard should show in 'my computer' as another drive and you can move picture files from it to the computer as you would any other files.

Thanks. It is not the photographs that I need. I want to back-up my contact list and perhaps some important texts.

Would the Mediago work for that? If not that maybe something else? Also Sony may have their own connection software. Sorry I can't be of more help.
