USB not resetting and now not working

October 21, 2011 at 20:35:59
Specs: Windows 7, i7/6GB
After a USB port power surge on my 2 month old DELL XPS L502x that specific USB port is not detecting any device. When the reset had popped up for the USB I tried resetting it using that button but it did not reset the USB hence I rebooted the system but the issue still persisted. I even re-installed windows but the problem still remains. Please help ASAP. Can’t seem to figure out how to sort this out.

Don’t know why something like this should happen on a brand new laptop.

The power surge may have blown the fuse or i/o circuits on the usb ports.
