USB Memory stick not detected

Specs: Windows XP
I plugged ina data C801 memory stick is not detected and Appearing please help nothing is happening and its a new Memory stick.

go to start >> run >> diskmgmt.msc >> press enter...does it show up ?

try another usb...if it works fine, it`s your usb...if it don`t work either, then it`s your usb ports or drivers...

also try the usb with a usb port in the back of the computer...

what happens when you leave it plugged in for a minute ?

go to Device Manager >> right click a device >> select "Scan for Hardware Changes" >> Wait a minute... --- what happens ?

If it isn't detected but other sticks in the same USB slot do work then the stick is a dud. There isn't anything you can do to fix it. With that type of flash media it either works or not.

if my last suggestion won`t work, I agree with Richard59...sorry to say...last ditch effort would be to try the USB on another system...

I tested as well with another PC nothing is happenng,if its a hardware problem how can i fix?but thanks for all yor efforts.
