Without the above requested information, about the only suggestion I can make is to try one of the other USB ports. On certain years/models some USB ports are through an expansion chip or built in hub while other ports are directly into the chipset. If you have one of these,it is likely to behave better while charging. This is especially true on models that have both USB2 and USB3 ports on their sides.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

If this recently started happening it may be your charger. You might look for one with a higher amperage. If it's always been this way, some laptops have 'USB always on' feature in their bios. Also you can adjust USB power management in DEVICE MANAGER--USB ROOT HUB--POWER MANAGEMENT and uncheck 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'. Neither of these options specifically address USB operation during charging but it won't hurt to try them.

Maybe your charger has the wrong power, and the keyboard may prevent using it when detecting that. Try another USB input, or with a hub (or without a hub), something is going to give.

USB's are know for having power issues, as all is way less standard to what you could think. Throw in a charger, and all is different again.
