USB hard drive problem

Specs: Windows 7
I have a laptop running Windows 7
After about a year and maybe 20 backups, my USB backup drive no longer shows up on Windows Explorer tree when it is connected.
The hard drive’s LED lights up, and flickers like it is connected to the PC.
It is connected thru a USB hub, but the mouse that is connected thru the hub works.
I removed all the USB ports for the hub in Device Manager, but the back up hard drive still doesn’t show up.
I should note that I update to the latest version and then use “CCCleaner” before each backup, so it may have deleted something important from the Registry this time?

Try conecting it without the hub.

I should have mentioned that I also tried this with the same result.
The USB hard drive doesn't show in either the Device Manager or the Windows Explorer

Did you try it with another computer?
