USB drive anomaly seems to have off characters

Specs: windows 7 enterprise, some
First off, I am aware that usb drives are tecnically temporary storage, and have had them fail before.

However never this strangly. The file in question that seemed to make things odd was pale moon portable. (I was looking for a slim version of firefox, and got suckered). All sorts of characters that you don't see in a filename appeared in this one folder, and since then I have not been able to move or copy files off the drive.

At the moment I have taken the drive out of rotation as it seems suspicious. Scanned the drive with several variations of malwarebytes and virus tools. Formated it even, and the file won't clear.

Mostly wondering if anyone has seen this before. Almost looked like machine code when you try to look at an exe in notepad.

Use Disk Manager, delete all partitions. Create a new partition and format it.
This should clear nearly anything from the drive.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
