Hi, a friend of mine has a hard drive in an external hard drive enclosure. The cable with it, is USB A to USB A.

Is there any way I can use this to read & write to the hard drive?

It is not seen in My computer. Although, windows sees it, & says the hardware is ready for use.

All my external hard drives have a USB B socket, this has USB A.

Thanks

Solved, I found that the hard disk hadn't been plugged into the IDE connecter in the enclosure.
Should have checked before posting.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.

May have to assign a letter to the drive and then may have to take permissions.

Personally, I'd run a live linux cd to see what it says.
