[URGENT]HP D530 Cutting off/Shuts down automatically

Specs: Windows Xp, Intel Pentium 4 (2.6 Ghz) 1.75 GB RAM
Hello my HP D530 is working but cuts out after a while there is no pattern, i could be using it for 5 mins then it shuts down then i could be using it for 1 hour and it cuts off, it happens at any time , i opened the box to check for loose wires and found nothing i am really stumped and need some help, also i am suspecting it might be the psu , but wouldn't that make my PSU Completely dead?

Could be the CPU is overheating, could be a weak/failing power supply, could be something else. You didn't give us much to go on.

Download and run memtest86+ from the link below. No memory errors are acceptable.

Well my CPU goes 40 degrees c max and my PSU i think might be as you said a problem , is there any way to repair this ?

Run the memory test to find out or eliminate that as a possibility. Most of the time it is just a matter of the memory contacts being corroded. Snapping each module in and out 4 or 5 times will burnish them. If you are too lazy to run the memory test them try burnishing the contacts.

You can also check the power supply voltages with HWMonitor. Get it from the link below. the 3.3, 5, & 12V values should show within +-5% of those numbers.
