Specs: XP Media Center Edition 2002 SP 3, 2.8GHz / 1GB
I upgraded my Dell E310 from 1 to 2 GB RAM recently from ebay purchase at this listing:

On first boot the pc recognized the change in memory and I selected F1 to continue and not F2 to configure. At first it seemed to work but I noticed the pc was slower than before and in fact it defeated my purpose. On reboots I got a beeping warning sound and no reboot so I switched the chips back to orginal. Everything is fine now but I'm holding 2 memory cards 1GB each that are now worthless. Did I do something wrong? Should I run the configure program? I wasn't sure what it would ask of me. The memory cards are supposed to be compatible with my system. Why did they not work and is there something I can do to make them work?

Why would you buy RAM from eBay? At least it has a 30-day money back guarantee. Contact the seller, tell him it doesn't work properly, & get your money back.

I already contacted seller and have heard nothing back yet. In the meantime I was wondering if I failed to do something correctly. Apparently not. Thanks for responses.

Since the seller didn't list your model number in the list of compatible systems, you probably won't get a refund. Good luck though.
