Uninstalling Steam Without My External

Specs: Windows 7
My Steam folder was on my external but I lent it to a friend, now when i try to uninstall it I get an error stating "the folder contains an invalid character" Is there any way i can uninstall it without my HDD

Try reinstalling steam first in your default program files folder, then uninstall it.

When I try to install steam it gives me the same error.

Well that sucks. You could start regedit, and search the registry for the word steam and delete all the keys that point to the invalid location, but if you're not careful, you could hose something. If you are going to do that, read and follow this first.

That way if you screw something up you can restore the registry to the way it was before you started.
