Specs: Windows 10
light stays on when shut down Lenovo idea centre 23.8 therefore not really shut down. have to hold the power button in for a while to turn off completely. used to do this when going in to sleep mode so changed settings so it stays on but now often does it when just shutting down, any ideas? thanks.

4- From the enabled options under Shutdown settings section, uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended) checkbox to disable Hybrid Shutdown.

Did you?

Check what programs start with Windows and see it setting most of them to not start with Windows will resolve the issue. It maybe just some program that is running in the background that is not shutting down when told to by Windows.
You can also test your antivirus by first forcing it to stop and then doing your shut down. If it shuts down then, it might be your antivirus program. Post which one to see if there are suggestions for settings to resolve.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
