TV as a display

Specs: Windows 7 RC, intel i7 920 2.67 ghz 6 gb
I have 2x Nvidia GTX 285 sli graphics cards with an output to a 21" digital lcd monitor in 1920 x 1080 resolution. I saw the MX Air mouse at store recently and got to thinking, if I could plug my lcd TV into my computer, I could watch stuff directly from my PC using that mouse almost like a remote to select the stuff I want to watch on websites :D

My question is, will this work though? I looked up DVI splitter and found some online so I'm assuming it might be as simple as getting one of those and plugging my monitor and TV into it, then it plugs into one of my vid cards?

I was also planning to use the MX Air as just a TV "remote" and keeping my current mouse on my PC. Can I plug 2 mice in at the same time? I won't be using both at the same time so will the one I am using just take over control of the pointer?

Thanks, really appreciate any information!

Yes you can. Its called making a Media Computer. I think a lot of us geeks have one of these boxes in our home or a least I do. I would not use it for your primary computer because a lot of your disk space is going to be used for music and movies. Also you might want to look into a TV Tuner Card which will allow you to hook your cable TV into the computer and you can use it as a DVR.

Thats awesome. I had never considered the DVR option....thats definitly something to think about down the road. I was considering getting a home server PC but with my voip ATA box, 2 pc's and the PS3 all on the router that requires a new bigger router or a bridge and more trouble and money than I'm ready to get into yet lol.

So I take it then from your reply a simple splitter will do the trick for me and there should be no conflict with the mice?
