Turn off laptop outside lights?

Is there a way to shut off the lights on the outside of the laptop?

If you mean the small leds which show battery charging & power
status then you cannot turn them off except by dismantling the
laptop & physically cutting the wires/breaking the connectors,
though I wouldn't recommend it. How about a bit of electrical
tape stuck over to cover them?

Thanks for the response but I wasn't referring to the status indicators but rather the lights on top & front of the unit. I have the Alien gamer laptop and I was not planning on it serving as my primary system but life happens and I have to use it as a desktop for now. The lights are very distracting glowing from the top and front.
