Specs: Win XP Pro / Win Vis, E6300 / 2 GB
I have an HP Laser Jet M2727nf that was recently serviced and had the motherboard changed, but the printer is still not working. There is a RAM slot on the motherboard that has no RAM in it. Is RAM nessecary or just an upgrade option? Thanks.

Sapphire Radeon X1900XT
Seagate 320GB HDD
WD 80GB HDD

Usually an upgrade. If it was serviced was it returned in running condition? I would return it for a redo,

Seems to me that there should be some on board memory. The link below to the specs of the printer show it has only ONE memory slot that holds a max of 64MB.

Well the printer turns on and it will turn on but it doesn't do anything. Nothing on the display screen shows up and the exclamation mark and toner low lights turn on and the 2-sided and collate LEDs are on. Does this sound like a bad board or something else. I wanted to try to determine the problem before sending it back for more repairs if possible because if its a matter of something not being plugged up right I would just do it myself. Thanks for the help so far.

I would ask that question of the people that serviced it last time.

The memory slot is for expansion only. The 64mb that comes with the printer is internal, and the slot is for a max of 256mb. Definitely return to the place who serviced it last.
