transfer data from PATA to SATA hard drive

Specs: Windows 7, 4
upgrading computer the old tower is PATA (IDE) interface new tower is SATA interface. How to I get the informtion from the IDE to the SATA .. ports are not the same .. new tower does not have anything to connect the IDE hard drive to slave it to the SATA drive.

All you can use are your personal files. You should be able to burn that data to disk or copy it to flash drive.

You could also get an external USB enclosure or my favorite, a universal adapter like the one in the link below.

If both have a network interface, over the network. If you don't have a hub, switch, or router you will need a crossover cable.
