... if you can enter it check the dates etc to see if anything is scrambled, reboot and recheck. does the bios see the harddrive? post back here.

... if the dates are scrambled I'd say it'll need a new CMOS battery (watch type), they last about 5 yrs.
... I'm not sure about security on that model, different makes will lock the bios and harddrive if the battery is removed depending if you enter the correct supervisor password, if you can enter your bios and alter a setting and save it on exit and it does'nt ask for a password you may be ok!
... first find the correct battery before removing so you can do a fast switch.
