Solved Toshiba laptop battery connected but won't charge

Specs: Windows 7, pentium 4
eventhough my battery is plugged in the lap won't show that it is charging and therefore my laptop won't recharge its battery............

Your battery has gone bad so just change battery.

How old is the battery?

Is the battery the one that came with the laptop?

Is the charger the one that came with the laptop.

The battery is 5 years old and yes it did come with the lap
