Specs: Windows 8
THE MOUSE IN QUESTION ISN'T ONE THAT PLUGS IN IT CAME IN THE LAPTOP IT IS IN THE TOUCHPAD I GUESS YOU CALL IT, I was using it but then I went to use It later & it wouldn't work. I am having to use a USB mouse. I have tried everything but nothing works. I'm not too familiar with Windows 8 & not sure I like it.

I am not too familiar with Windows 8 either but in situations like this I would try these in this order:
1- Restart the machine. Sometimes this will work.
If not then:
2- Download the Touchpad driver from your laptop manufacture's site and install it. Then go to Device Manager (or whatever it is now called) and delete the touchpad as a device. Then either use the search/scan for devices or restart the machine to reinstall the touchpad.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Have you let the battery drain completely or have you accidentally touched a switch or key combo? Many laptops have a facility for turning of the touchpad (so you don't accidentally touch it when typing, for example) usually it is either a small switch near the touchpad itself or it can be a key combination - the Fn key and one of the F keys. You need to check your manual or give us the make and model of the laptop and someone may know it.
