Hi

The jack pin on my 615 compaq is bent and I am having trouble charging, I have to fiddle with the jack to get it to charge. Would this entail buying a new mother board

Hi X86

Are they not connected to the motherboard though and if the pin is bent could it detach from the motherboad. Many thanks for your previous answer.

PS In your opinion how much would a repair cost and how long would it take? Thanks in advance.

In the UK around £50.00

The DC Jack is Soldered to the mainboard via usually 3 pins, it is common for the pins to break, I have even seen the inside of the socket to fall apart, my local repairer can usually undertake a 24hr turn-a-round
