Terrible buzzing from tower

May 8, 2009 at 05:18:42
Specs: Windows XP
My graphic card fan was broken so I was given a new graphic card, exactly same model, as replacement. But since then there is this horrible sound coming from tower that starts after windows has loaded.
Its not coming from fans, and its not card or power supply as they tried replacing both of those.
That sound starts only after windows has started and fan on graph card has slowed down a bit.
Any idea what might be buzzing like crazy here??

Who are "they"? Since "they" replaced the card & PSU, why didn't "they" fix the buzzing too?

Did you open the case yourself to try to determine where the buzzing is coming from? There's only a few possibilities - fans, HDD, motherboard speaker, bad capacitor. If it's a capacitor, the motherboard will have to be replaced. It's generally not cost effective to repair a bad motherboard.

I would remove the new graphics card....leave it out...and start the computer.

Yes you will get error beeps......beep beep beep.....but it should stop........give it a minute and see if the buzzing is still there.

Have you checked for bees? :-) LOL
