Specs: Windows 7
i had a problem with my cd rom drive which doesnt eject at all, looks dead but says it works completely at the control panel.
i scanned the system just as you suggested and no infections found. so, would it be recommended if i show it to a technician for any hardware problems?

If the eject button does not get a response then try going to Computer or My Computer, right click on the drive and select 'Eject' from the menu.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
