System Reserved appears on my external drive E: how do i rem

October 8, 2019 at 19:22:24
Specs: Windows 10
I removed the hard drive from my old computer and attached it by usb to my new computer.
The drive is recognized but unable to access files. System Reserved message. Any ideas on how to access the files?
It seems from reading other posts that the System Reserved is a partition that holds the operating system from my old computer. Since I'm not using that operating system anymore, how can I delete that partition on my external drive?

There's quite a bit of information here:

https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/k...

Most of it assumes you want to keep the boot information. Since you've got an external drive from another computer its boot information is irrelevant. I think you can skip down to part 3 'Remove the System Reserved Partition' and use Disk Management to remove it. That should leave that partition space as raw/unformatted. You should be able to do the same with any other remaining partitions on that drive. Then use disk management to create new partition(s).

Be careful when you start removing partitions. You don't want to delete the wrong one.
