|I have recently purchased a new mobo, cpu, and ram. I re-used the hdd and case & psu that worked properly with no problems.|
I installed everything and the computer worked great for a day, next day went to turn it on it got to the login screen and restarted. It does this all the time. So I thought it was the PSU, so I bought a new one, yet still have the same problem. So I replaced the hdd with one that I freshly installed xp on and it restarts as soon as it starts to load windows.
I pulled one stick of ram out, tried it, still same problem, so tried the other one and no change.
Then I proceeded to pull some ram out of the other computer that I know works, and still nothing!
Being that I tried only IDE hdd's in it I hooked up the SATA hdd out of my main computer that runs Vista and the only difference was that instead of restarting I got the BSOD which said Windows has shutdown the drive to prevent damage to the computer and said something about a virus maybe the cause.
I have tried switching everything out other than the processor. I inspected the board for any popped capacitors and found none.
Anyone have a clue what could be the problem?
