only using two sata 500sl
ok 100 more ...
i dont want to loose too much xtra memory

IMO if you are talking about a personal computer then I wouldn't recommend ANY of the above RAID types. You would be better served by performing full and incremental backups on a regular basis. If you have mission critical files or irreplaceable files like personal. family photos then I would recommend you keep one copy of those on each of your two drives that a basic. Then also backup to an external hard drive or to a cloud storage site.

Hard drive space & memory are 2 completely different things. Do you have a motherboard that supports RAID? Do you know how to configure it? Do you want speed, redundancy, or both
