SSD slow Performance Problem

Specs: Windows 7 64bit

A friend of mine has recently purchased a SSD and is having a few performance problems with it, its being used for the OS only (Windows 7 64bit)

I have been told that if more than one program is run at the same time then it makes the computer unstable and it crashes, also when installing some programs they take ages to install.

Also when installing Windows 7 it took over 2 hours to install, even with my normal hdd I can install windows in less than 35min.

Has anyone come across this problem before or know why it’s performing so badly?

I will find out what make it is and the size, forgot to ask.

When SSD drives you have to do your homework on them, not all of them out perform a regular spinning hard drive. The perks you do get from an SSD drive is less heat created and less power used, plus they are very silent. Usually the nice performing SSD drives cost. The SSD drives that I stick with for my machines are OCZ, but even with OCZ you still have to read the specs for that model and see if there are any benchmarks on it. Otherwise your SSD drive which you paid 2 to 3 times as much as regular hard drive runs like a snail in winter.

Thank ibiggee.

Thing is, its only some things that are slow like when running more than one application but load times for Windows and single applications is fast.

This is the make of the SSD my friend has.
