|I own a two year old Sony Vaio VGN-FS840/W and just recently I purchased a new keyboard from ebay (Same Keyboard including same modal number) because my old one was not working correctly and was missing several keys. So I installed the new keyboard and started using it and noticed some keys are executing two keys at the same time. EX: Number Key 1 thru 9 types the number key + F key above it for example 1 = 1 + F1, 6 = 6 + F6, Tab = Tab + ESC, Backspace = BKSP + Insert and Num Lock = NL + =. Plus several other glitched keys. Two of these keys are very annoying the TAB key because I always use it and the #1 key because it opens the Help Window for the current application|
I would just return the keyboard but first off the ebay listing was AS-IS so no returns. I emailed the seller and he says the keyboard was pulled from a identical sony notebook in working condition.
And no it is not a OS problem because no matter what OS I'm running Windows or Linux it dose the same thing.
I pulled the keyboard off to take a look underneath and I noticed near the cable plug for the keyboard their is are 4 toggle switches and I wondering if I had to change combination to make the keyboard work correctly. The current combination is
1 = ON
2 = ON
3 = ON
4 = OFF
If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks.
