Thought i had the model number up there.
Its a Sony Vaio PCG-7M1L
Just the typical method of having everything cleaned off the harrdrive and "back to its original" factory state. The option to do this was in the control panel on this model as well and in other laptops ive owned such as HP pavilion it required you to restart the computer and hi F10 or 11 to get to a security screen.
No it doesnt just pops up gives me the short details on what Restoring the computer will do, after that i hit accept to continue the restoration process and it says "Error1:there was an error cannot continue" then restarts and does it again.

... hi "damn-itman" please correct me if I'm wrong my search tells me its a "VGN-FS950"

Product Code and Serial Number and Service Tag

... guessing that you hav'nt created the recovery discs to

... remove or restore the Recovery Drive partition

... "Recovery Discs must be created on the computer"

... not that this info is going to help much apart from pointing in the right direction regarding seaching.

... are these recovery disc's any cheaper than Sony?
